Santa Clarita Real Estate Law Attorney
Helping Californians Make Smart Real Estate Decisions
At The Law Office of Dean Schweitzer, I provide real estate legal services to clients throughout the Valencia area. As a Santa Clarita real estate law attorney, I also have over three decades of experience as a real estate broker. Since 1986, I have helped many Californians settle real estate transactions and purchase the homes and commercial properties of their dreams. I understand how momentous the real estate purchasing process can be, so if you choose to work with my firm, I will remain in constant communication with you throughout the duration of your case to provide guidance and support whenever you need it.
Real Estate Matters the Firm Can Assist With
Purchasing a home could easily be the biggest investment you ever make, so the process is not one you should take lightly. Fortunately, a real estate attorney is able to prepare and review documents relating to purchase agreements, mortgage documents, title documents, and transfer documents as well as guide you through the buying or selling process.
A real estate attorney such as myself can guide you through the process of purchasing a home or other property from start to finish. I can assist with all aspects of the process including:
- Ensuring all paperwork is properly completed and filed with the authorities,
- Undergoing title searches and negotiating should a search reveal a problem,
- Safeguarding your rights and protecting your interests,
- Handling the closing process on your behalf so you can receive the keys to your new home quicker,
- Reviewing contracts to make sure there aren’t any legal issues, mistakes, or unfair clauses,
- Protecting you from facing discrimination during the purchasing process, and
- Providing you with legal counsel all along the way.
Do I Need a Real Estate Attorney?
The choice is entirely up to you. While you may want to consider consulting with an attorney at the very least during a free case evaluation, you may ultimately decide that you feel confident handling the process on your own. Though several states require that both the buyer and seller involved in a real estate transaction have an attorney to represent their interests at the closing, California is not one of them.
You may find working with an attorney beneficial, especially if this is your first major real estate purchase and you aren’t already familiar with how the process works. A lawyer can help ensure you are getting a fair deal, that all documentation is fair and submitted correctly, and that you fully understand your rights and responsibilities regarding the process. An attorney can be especially helpful if your transaction is particularly complex or otherwise difficult to understand.
